Zion’s Easter Egg Hunt

We are currently looking for volunteers to donate their time to help make the event a success as well as those willing to donate candy and fill eggs. Volunteering during the event is fun and rewarding! The more volunteers the better. Please use the link below to access the sign-up sheet:

If you are unable to volunteer, consider donating a bag of candy or two. We are collecting pre-wrapped, egg sized candy, to fill the eggs (not chocolate, because it melts). Candy is being collected in the school and church offices. Send candy in your child’s backpack and we’ll get it where it needs to go!

This morning our friends enjoyed working together on various tasks.  They are learning valuable social skills that will benefit them throughout their lives!

The friends created a game, and at one point, all of the friends were involved in the game! (Unfortunately, I did not get a picture of when all of the friends were involved, but when many of the friends were involved.)

Hurray for beautiful weather!!

During morning meeting we played a game that increases our critical thinking.  I drew a picture of a very small hippo.  (Remember God gave us all different gifts; I do not have the gift of drawing. ;) )   However, the hippo had to cross a big, rushing river.  The children brainstormed ideas of how we could fix this problem.  Here are some of the great solutions that we came up with:

"He could jump across."

"He could put rocks in the river and jump on the rocks."

"He could build a bridge."

"He could call a dragon and have the dragon fly him across."

During small group time, we prepared for our tournament! Once all of the preparations were made, we performed the tournament for another class!  The children did a FANTASTIC job!  I will share the video with you via google drive today.

We then celebrated all we have learned about castles with a special popcorn snack!!

During second free choice we worked together in the blocks!  The children are learning valuable foundational math skills as they build in the blocks.

During Jesus time we learned the story of Jesus riding in to Jerusalem as found in Matthew 21:1-11.  We learned that Jesus is our King of kings.  He is the Lord of heaven and earth, who has saved us from our sin!!
