Happy Monday!

The friends were very excited to get to work making dog houses for their dogs in the blocks.

Other friends were creative in the art center.

Bailee practiced her writing as she made notes for her family!

Hurray for spring!

During morning meeting we watched a short movie about comfort dogs.  Comfort dogs are trained to help people in crisis situations.  They work with their trainers to share Jesus' love!  To learn more about the Comfort Dog ministry, please click HERE.

During small group time we dictated what we would do if we were dogs!

We then had fun strengthening our fine motor skills by coloring under the table!

We also graphed whether or not we had a dog.  We compared and counted the graph.  Comparing and counting are valuable math skills!

During second free choice time, many friends used items from the explore on the floor center to create.  We worked to describe our creations to expand our vocabulary!

Taking care of our dogs

We also enjoyed watching the rain!

Play dough exploring

We decided to use cardboard boxes to make houses for our dogs.  The friends got to work making plans for their dog houses! (The knowledge and skills from our castle project helped us as we designed our dog houses and described the plans to our friends.)

Once the plans were done, each friend who wanted to started creating their own dog house!

Labeling the dog houses

During Jesus time we learned about all of the pain that Jesus went through when He died.  We learned that he went through all of that pain because He loves us so much!  We remembered that even though Jesus went through all of that pain and died, He did not stay dead.  He rose again!  Because of His death and resurrection, we are forgiven and saved children of God!
