Happy Thanksgiving!  We had a really fun day today!

Isaac practiced writing the letters he noticed on the keyboard.

Anabelle and Megan noticed that some of the babies needed cleaning, so they washed them!

We had a lot of fun making popcorn for our Thanksgiving feast!

Mrs. Brauchle, Megan's mom, came and was a guest reader for our class today!

We then headed to the commons for a Frozen dance party!

Thanksgiving Feast!!

We then watched a Bearenstein Bear's Thanksgiving movie with Mrs. Mudd's class.

Back in the classroom, we had time for free choice.

Many of the friends started working on decorations for Christmas!

Happy Thanksgiving Feast Day!

Today is a short blog update as I left school early to care for my daughter who is sick.

This morning we made popcorn together for our feast!  We were sure to not get close to the popper because it is hot!

Morning free choice play

Mrs. Cruz helped out today so Mrs. Buchholz could spend time with her family.

Chapel time

Pastor Reitz talked to us about all of the things we can be thankful for.  The best thing that we can be thankful for is salvation through faith in Jesus our Savior!

The Thanksgiving Feast!
Thank you so much for your generous donations for our feast!  It was very fun and yummy!

We then went to Mrs. Mudd's room and watched Charlie Brown Mayflower Voyages.

Happy Monday!

Just a reminder that school ends at 12:00 on Wednesday.  There will be no school lunch program and no half day care.  There is no school Thursday and Friday.

Mark your calendars!  The Preschool and Kindergarten Christmas program is Sunday, December 14th at 4:00.

We really enjoyed looking at the geese so close to our classroom this morning!

Hunter and Brynne decided to see which seashell was heavier.  They are learning how to use tools to answer their questions!

Our marble run structures are becoming more intricate.

Exploring and playing with the marble run provides an opportunity for the children to engage in problem solving.

"Hmm...I wonder why the marble just keeps dropping down straight without going through the slides?" We encourage the children to think through a solution and test it out.  This is a valuable life skill!

Victoria also created an intricate structure with the blocks!  She is learning about spatial relationships and engaging in problem solving skills!

Fun in the commons!

During morning meeting, we count to see how many friends are at school.  Today we counted 13 friends.  Some children wondered what 13 looks like, so we used our SMARTboard to practice writing the number 13.

We also learned a fun letter game.  In this game, the children say the item shown in the picture and guess the first letter that they hear.  They then move the item to reveal the letter!

We played the letter game during small group time.  Just as each child is unique, so level of success for each child is unique.  Success for some children is identifying the beginning sound of the word.  Success for some children is identifying the beginning and ending sound of the word.  Success for some children is identifying the hidden letter and the corresponding sound.

We also painted our own turkeys.

We practiced recognizing letters, numbers, and shapes, with a fun wiggle worm game!

Second free choice time

Brynne incorporated writing into our doctor office.  She checked with everyone to see if they needed to visit the doctor, and wrote a list of the names of the friends who needed to see the doctor.  This is a great way to engage in meaningful writing!

During Jesus time, we discussed things that we are thankful for.  We also discussed that when things are going rough, we still have things to be thankful for- Jesus' love and forgiveness!  No matter how bad things seem to get, Jesus will always love and forgive us- no matter what!!
