We used another graph to sign in this morning!  The children are becoming more familiar with graphs.  They are able to identify which line to use next. They are also learning to compare the graph.
"Look!  More friends have pets!"

We had a few babies born in our doctor office today!

Children use play as a way to make sense of the world.  You will often see children act out familiar scenarios.  This helps promote cognitive development!

The receptionist documented each birth for our records.
(This is a great time to engage in meaningful writing practice!)

Working with the marble run!

Writing and creating

Brr!  It was a chilly day outside!
We still had a lot of fun running around and playing together.

During small group time, we asked questions about Fall.
What is Fall?
What does Fall look like?
What does Fall sound like?

The children each drew a picture of Fall and dictated a few sentences about Fall.

We also played an upper case and lower case matching game to increase letter recognition.

In the blocks, we worked on drawing what we were going to build before we did.  This helps plan what we are going to do, which promotes cognitive development.

We then went outside to investigate Fall.  We described what Fall looks like and sounds like.  We also collected Fall items for our science center!

Back in the classroom, the friends put what they learned into practice during second free choice.  The reason we schedule free choice time after small group time is to provide an opportunity for the children to utilize the skills they learned in small group time.

During Jesus time we learned that sometimes we don't want to do things that we should do like brush our teeth, help mom and dad, or be kind to our friends.  We also learned that the Holy Spirit can help us do things when we don't feel like doing them.  We thanked God for helping us, and we also thanked Him for the gift of salvation through Jesus' death and resurrection!
