Just a reminder that school ends at 12:00 on Wednesday, November 26 and there is no school Thursday, November 27 and Friday, November 28 to give you time to celebrate Thanksgiving with your family.

We went to a special Thanksgiving chapel with the whole school this morning!  We brought our food offerings for the Seminarians.  I personally know how appreciative the Seminarians, and their families, are for these generous donations.  The Seminary can be a financially straining time, so many families are unable to travel over Thanksgiving.  These donations allow the Seminary families to have a full Thanksgiving meal, even away from family.  Thank you!

The Student Council led our chapel this morning.  They shared with us how we can act at Thanksgiving and show God's love to each other.  We are thankful for the gift of salvation through Christ Jesus!

Back in the classroom, we enjoyed free choice time while some friends went to the gymnastics class!
(If your child was unable to go to the gymnastics class today, he/she will go tomorrow. :) )

During small group time, we exercised our fine motor skills as we practiced recognizing and forming letters with play doh!

We also practiced ordering numbers.  As you know, God created His children differently, and success is different for all children.  Success in this activity for some children is recognizing numbers 1-10, 1-15, and/or 1-20.  Success for some children is correctly ordering the numbers.  Success for some children is using one to one correspondence when counting the cups.

We celebrate all levels of success in preschool, and we work to help the children achieve their personal best.

We also worked on a collaborative mural!

During second free choice time, a few babies were born in our classroom!  Play is a way that children make sense of the world, so it is natural for children to act out a situation that has happened or is happening in their life.

As with any play, the children ask questions to learn more.  This is what we want!!
The question was asked today, "Where does the baby come out?"
I responded, "At the hospital"
The child asked, "Where in the body?"
I responded, "God made a special place for the baby to come out.  When you get to be a mommy and/or daddy you will find out!"

Working together in the blocks is a great way to practice collaboration, cooperation, and problem solving!
