Don't forget about the Christmas Service here at Zion in the Sanctuary on December 9th at 4:00.  Our class will participate in the program.  Please drop your child off by 3:45 in the church basement.  There will be many people there, so I would encourage you to come early to get good seats.  Preschool families will be asked to bring 1 dozen cookies for the cookie reception following the service. (peanut free of course)  If you have further questions, please let me know!

We had another great day in preschool!  Check out what we did!

We enjoyed out new check-in on the SMART board.  The children are doing a great job recognizing their names and even the names of their friends!

We acted out the story of Jesus' birth with another nativity set.  Thank you Dose family for letting us borrow the set!

We used a nativity book too to tell the story of Jesus' birth!

We worked in small groups today.  We made letters using the wood pieces and practiced recognizing letters.  The children are developing as readers and writers!

We also practiced writing our letters!  Again, the children are developing as readers and writers.

Another small group went on a letter hunt and practiced writing the various letters they saw!

We worked on special Christmas art projects today too!

During Jesus time, we learned the story of the angel visiting Mary.  We learned that Jesus came to save us from our sins, and He loves us very much! We practiced singing our song for the Christmas program too!

We also enjoyed creating at the free choice table!  Through this activity the children are expressing creativity, working their fine motor skills, and working together to share the supplies!

Speaking of supplies, we are currently collecting more items for our free choice table.

ribbon
confetti
toilet paper tubes
garland
beads

If you have any of these supplies at home and would like to bring them in to share, we would greatly appreciate it!  Thank you!

We enjoyed dressing up and acting out the story of Jesus' birth!

We worked together and practiced positive social skills, sharing, and problem solving!

Stephanie practiced writing her letters all by herself.  Great job Stephanie!

We worked on our writing as we made cards for people we love!  The children are developing as readers and writers!

We acted out the story of Jesus' birth with some fun costumes!  As the children play, they are practicing communication skills and vocabulary, problem solving, and creativity.

We started working on a fun Christmas art project!  We will paint a Christmas tree and decorate it with paper we have painted.  The children are developing fine motor skills and creativity.

We drew another picture of a spider today.  The children did a great job drawing the spiders!  We will compare these drawings with the drawings from Phase One to see how much we have learned.

We also practiced letter recognition, letter and sound matches, and writing various letters!

We played a game called Little Mouse Little Mouse.  This game allows the children to practice recognizing various shapes including square, rectangle, circle, oval, rhombus (diamond), and triangle.  The game also helps the children practice rhyme and repetition which are early reading skills!
