I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving break!

We had a great day back in school!

The Lord blessed us with a new student today!
Welcome Devereux!

Check out what we did today!

We played a game called Little Mouse Little Mouse.  This game allows the children to practice recognizing various shapes including square, rectangle, circle, oval, rhombus (diamond), and triangle.  The game also helps the children practice rhyme and repetition which are early reading skills!

We had fun outside even though it was a little chilly!
Now that the weather is colder, please be sure to pack a hat and gloves daily.

During Jesus time, we learned the story of the Angel visiting Mary.  We learned that Jesus was born on Christmas!

We started decorating our classroom for Jesus' birthday!  We worked together to add a nativity to the bulletin board. The children practiced using positive social skills as they worked together.

At the free choice table, some of the children made ornaments for our classroom Christmas tree.  As they created, they used high level thinking skills, refined their fine motor skills, and worked together!

We also worked together to decorate our classroom Christmas tree!

We used fabric nativities to act out the Christmas story.  As the children pretend together, they are developing vocabulary and communication skills, problem solving skills, and using their imagination and creativity!

We also dictated what we know about Spiders.  We will compare this web to our Phase One Web to see how much the children have learned!

We practiced writing letters in paint.  We also practiced matching upper and lower case letters!  These activities will help the children develop as readers and writers.
