Weekly Newsletter November 26-30
Welcome back! I pray that everyone had a blessed and restful Thanksgiving!
We will continue Phase Two our Spider Project this week. We will do another drawing of a spider to see how they have changed from the beginning of the Project. I am excited to see how much the children have learned reflected in their drawings!
The children will also dictate what they know about spiders in our Phase Two web. We will compare this web with Phase One and Phase Three webs to see how much the children have learned. he children are also practicing their verbal skills and recognizing the connection between spoken word and written print.
The children will practice matching numbers to their quantities as we play a paper plate clothespin game. The children will practice counting skills, number recognition, number to quantity matching, and one to one correspondence through this activity.
The children will also express their creativity at the free choice table. The children are able to use anything on the table to create, paint, glue, and cut. As the children express their creativity, they are using a higher level thinking skill! The more the children engage in higher level thinking, the more cognitive development can occur!
The children will practice letter recognition and fine motor skills as they write letters in paint trays this week. This activity will help the children learn foundational reading skills.
During Jesus time this week, we will learn about the angel visiting Mary based found in Luke 1:26-38 in the bible. We will learn that Jesus is coming! We will practice our song for our Christmas program which is on December 9th.
We will have a great week! :)
