Our friends we eager to explore our new "Explore on the Floor" center.  They learned to be so careful with the items in the center.  They children are exploring items from nature.  Their curiosity about these items leads to further learning!

Yesterday many friends requested play dough, so today they were so excited to play with play dough! They are strengthening their fine motor skills as well as expressing creativity.

We were also excited to play with some of the new dog items today!

Will wanted to name his dog "Joey" so he worked to make a name tag for his dog.  This was a great opportunity to engage in meaningful writing.

Victoria used her play dough creations to make two different patterns!

Hurray for outside time!

All of the full day preschool classes came together to play the bells!

During small group time we started/finished our crosses from yesterday.  We will hang these crosses in our classroom to remind us that Jesus loves us so much that He died on the cross and rose again to save us from our sins!

We also explored in our new center.  The children wrote their findings and questions.  Again, this is a great opportunity to engage in meaningful writing practice.

We then webbed what we know about dogs!  We will use the web as a basis for our learning throughout the project and compare it with the web at the end of the project to see how much we have learned.

During second free choice time, the friends made a vacation in the explore on the floor center!  The dogs went on the vacation too!

Victoria made her own dog collar.  She wrote her dog name on the collar too!

Avery worked hard to make a card for her parents.

The children decided to pretend to be dogs.  We discussed how to use the collars and leashes in a safe way when playing.

During Jesus time we learned the story of the woman anointing Jesus' head and feet as found in Matthew 26:6-13.  We learned that she anointed Jesus to honor Him.  We can honor Jesus too because He died and rose again to save us from our sins!
