Welcome back to another week of school!
Please remember that there is a full day of school on Thursday, no school on Friday, and no school next week for Easter break.
Will explored our rocks and water this morning. We noticed how some of the properties of the rock look like they change when they are wet as opposed to when they are dry.
Many of the friends chose to color and create this morning!
Taking care of our dogs
Drawing together- we incorporate writing/drawing into our play as much as possible!
Creating with the pattern blocks strengthens foundational math skills!
Explore on the floor
We enjoyed looking through an encyclopedia of dogs that Ms. Emma brought to share.
Working together in the blocks also strengthens foundational math skills as well as problem solving skills and persistence!
What a beautiful day outside! We love running, jumping, and playing on the big playground!
During morning meeting many of the friends noticed that the tree outside of our classroom has started to bud! We decided to document the changes of the tree through observational drawings. Every few weeks we will observe, draw, and compare the pictures of the tree to observe its' changes.
During small group time, we did an observational drawing of the tree.
We also began to make Easter lilies by tracing our hands and cutting out the traced drawings. This helps to strengthen our fine motor skills.
We also played a fun letter guessing game to help us recognize our letters.
During second free choice, some of the friends chose to continue to strengthen their fine motor skills by continuing to draw, trace their hands, and cut them out.
We discussed how to take care of dogs while we played. We will have to explore this question further throughout our project!
Building dog houses together
Will chose to review the alphabet today.
More outside time!
During Jesus time we read the Easter story. We remembered that the Easter bunny, candy, and toys are all fun parts of Easter, but the best part of Easter is Jesus rising from the dead! Because of His death and resurrection, we can live forever with Him!
