Kiera had fun teaching her mom and sister the alphabet this morning!
Some friends got straight to work on their dog houses this morning.
Some friends explored and compared the discovery bottles!
Many friends chose to color Easter eggs this morning. As we colored together, we discussed that Easter eggs, Easter bunnies, etc. are all fun parts of Easter, but the best part of Easter is Jesus rising from the dead to save us from our sins!
We then went to the commons to run and play!
During morning meeting we watched a short movie about comfort dogs. Comfort dogs are trained to help people in crisis situations. They work with their trainers to share Jesus' love! To learn more about the Comfort Dog ministry, please click HERE.
After snack, we went to the chapel for a special service for our friend Drew who died on this day one year ago. All of the preschool classes played the bells that we were able to purchase because of his memorial. We then sang Jesus loves me as a school.
After the service, we went to blow bubbles for Drew.
Our friends did such a great job sitting quietly and behaving in the service, we went straight to free choice time when we went back to the classroom.
Riley took her dog to school and taught her dog the letters!
Our friends have been using the items in the explore on the floor center to create intricate designs!
Many of the friends chose to create together! As they were creating together, we had many opportunities to practice conflict resolution. The children practice asking each other, "How many minutes until my turn?" or "Can I have a turn when you are done?" before taking items. This social skill will benefit the children throughout their lives!
Some friends chose to continue to work on their dog houses too!
During second free choice time, the friends who were not able to sign our Do You Have a Dog graph yesterday signed the graph. As a whole group, we compared the graph. The children noticed that our graph is equal! We have three friends to sign the graph tomorrow, and we predicted that the graph will not be equal tomorrow. Comparing, counting, and predicting are all foundational math skills!
During Jesus time we learned about all of the pain that Jesus went through when He died. We learned that he went through all of that pain because He loves us so much! We remembered that even though Jesus went through all of that pain and died, He did not stay dead. He rose again! Because of His death and resurrection, we are forgiven and saved children of God!
