Welcome back to another week of preschool! This week is our final week in Phase Two of our Birthday Party project. Next week we will wrap up our birthday party learning!  We have learned and experienced so much in our Project!

Today we celebrate Riley!  We thank God that Riley is in our class!
Happy Birthday Riley!!!

This morning many of the friends wanted to read a story together.  One of the best ways to encourage reading is to read to children!

Magnetic tiles are always a favorite choice in the morning.  When the children play with the magnetic tiles, they are learning!  They are exploring spatial relationships.  They are learning how to work together.  They are learning to persevere too!

Our friends love to write!  They have learned how the correlation between spoken word and written print, and they often use writing in their play!

Birthday Party play!

What a beautiful day to play outside!

During small group time we talked about heathy and unhealthy foods for a birthday party.  We looked through magazines to find pictures of heathy and unhealthy foods.  We sorted the foods and put them on a chart.  Learning how to take care of our bodies is important!

We also worked on looking for the letters in our names with the letter magnets.  Some of the friends practiced recognizing the letters.  Other friends practiced the sounds of the letters.  Other friends worked to spell words with the letters.

We started an activity to help us remember the story of Moses.  We worked to weave paper like a basket.  This not only will help remind us of the bible story, but it is also a great opportunity for the children to engage in fine motor growth and development.

After small groups, we had a fire drill!  I was so impressed with how the children listened and followed directions during the drill!

During second free choice time, many of the friends chose to play school.  They put their letter knowledge to the test by quizzing each other.  :)

Other friends played puppies!

Megan and Brynne worked to measure each other.

Other friends played with the magnetic tiles!

We had a blast running and playing in the gym!

During Jesus time we learned the story of Moses found in Exodus 2:1-10.  We learned that sometimes things seem bad, and you don't know what to do about it.  However, God does know what to do!  He gave us His plan of salvation through Jesus Christ, His Son.
