This morning our friends were excited to play with out play doh!

We also sorted foods with the food chart!

We know the rain will stop someday.  :)  Until that day, we are so thankful for the space in the commons where we can run and play!!

We read a book that morning entitled Catalina Magdalena Hoopensteiner Wallendiner Hogan Logan Bogan was Her Name!  There are so many rhyming words in the book!  The friends had fun helping identify and guess the rhyming words throughout the book.  Rhyming helps the children develop phonemic awareness.  Phonemic awareness has a strong influence reading success.

Then our friend Zippy kept mixing up everyone's names!  He kept mixing up the beginning sound of the friend's name, and switching it to a Z sound!  Silly Zippy!  (This is another game that increases phonemic awareness. :) )

During small group time, we practiced rhyming with Mrs. Buchholz!

We also explored the play doh and strengthened our fine motor skills.

We also added to our web of what we know about birthday parties.  It is so great to see how much the children have learned throughout the Project!

During free choice time, we were able to go play in Mrs. Mudd's classroom!  We had a lot of fun!!

During Jesus time, we learned about the Israelites crossing the red sea.  We learned that sin is our enemy, and each day we fight against our own sinful desires, but Jesus defeated sin for us!  Through Baptism, our sins are washed away and we have new life!
