Our friends worked hard together in the blocks this morning!  They were very creative and expressive in their play!

Joey worked to write his Grandma's name on a card he made for her!  This was a perfect time to engage in meaningful writing.

Signing in

We love to read the bible!

During morning meeting we learned many new and fun songs!

Outdoor play before chapel

Mrs. Lail, one of our kindergarten teachers here at Zion, led our chapel today!  We learned that we know that God loves us because He gave us family to always be there for us.  He gave us abilities such as running, being a good reader, and being a good friend! He also forgives us when we make mistakes.  She read to us from the bible from John 13 where Jesus tells us to love one another as He as loved us!

During small group time we did a still life collage of all of the beautiful flowers and plants in our classroom!

We also continued our collaboration from the morning in the blocks!

Did you know that your child can read?  When your child recognized the "golden arches" as McDonald's he/she is exhibiting pre-reading skills!  Such familiar print is called environmental print.  Environmental print is all around us! (On the cereal you eat, the label for various snacks, the logo for various stores, etc.) We played an environmental print go fish game today.  As you drive home with your child, see what signs he/she can read on the way!  I bet you will be surprised!

During second free choice, Victoria watered our flower garden.  :)

We also continued with our block play!

Creating and writing

Exploring

Some of the friends and I played a silly game together where we pretended to be seeds growing!

We had a special popsicle treat today to celebrate Week of the Young Child!

When the children were finished they had the choice to sit on the bench or run to the gate and back.

We then headed down to the Sonshine center playground to play!
(We do this everyday, but I usually forget to bring the iPod.  I apologize.)
