Although it was a rainy outside, we had a great day in preschool!

To enhance our play, we added birthday party hats to the dramatic play center!

(Thank you everyone for your donations for our Project!!!)

Party hats are fun for moms and dads too!!

The children are learning to work collaboratively to plan their play.  As children plan their play, they are developing self-regulation, thinking, and reasoning.

Serving food at the party.  The children ran into a problem- there was not enough room at the table for everyone!

They resolved this issue by creating a second party space!

Isaac and Will delivered presents.

Joey had fun wearing his party hat and creating in the blocks!

Zack make a birthday present!

Hunter and Bryson noticed the labels from previous days, and decided to make their own! This was a great opportunity to engage in meaningful writing!

During small groups, we learned how to form letters.  We use the Handwriting Without Tears verbiage as we form letters with the wood pieces.

"I used two small curves to make an S!"

"I used two big curves to make an O!"

This activity helps to develop both letter recognition and writing skills!

With Ms. Emma, we made stamped rainbows of different colors to remind us of the rainbow that God put in the sky after the Flood.  We remember that God keeps His promises!

We then webbed what we know about birthday parties, and asked questions about birthday parties.  We will use the web to see how much we learn throughout the project, and we will use our questions to guide our learning!

During second free choice, the children continued to play birthday party!

Other friends made invitations to the party.  Look at how they are engaging in meaningful writing practice!

In the gym, we warmed up with some whole group songs and games before we ran to play!

During Jesus time we acted out the story of Noah and the Flood.  Riley was the Noah, and she made an ark.

Then, we called the animals to the ark two by two.

We all made a rainbow in the sky to remind us that God will never flood the whole world again.  We know that God keeps His promises!
