Happy Friday!

If you are looking for a place to worship this weekend, Zion has services in the sanctuary Saturday evening at 5:00 and Sunday morning at 8:00, 9:30, and 11:00.  Hope to see you there!  :)

This morning we, again, worked our fine motor skills by pulling off stickers, cutting, and using tape!  As you know by now, fine motor strength and control is important for small tasks such as writing.  Thank you to everyone who brought new stickers in for us!  We love them!!

We took turns writing letters for a poster for our friend Drew.  Our prayers are with Drew and his family as they go to the hospital next week for scheduled treatments.

Drew loved the poster we made for him.  As Drew left to put the poster in his backpack, our friends suggested that we tell Drew how much we love him. When Drew came back into the classroom, the children shouted, "WE LOVE YOU DREW!"  What a beautiful way to show God's love to each other!

1 Corinthians 13:3 comes to my mind, "And now these three remain: faith, hope, and love.  But the greatest of these is love."

We are building strong relationships with each other!  Learning to create and sustain positive peer relationships is a social skill that will benefit the children throughout their lives.

Hunter worked hard to build a road for the cars.

Other friends wanted to help.  They noticed that the rad was going by the door and someone might get hurt...

so they decided to build the road a different direction.  Great problem solving friends!

Since we have been discussing things that are the same and things that are different, we noticed that Joey and Andrew have the same shirt on today!

When we went outside, we had a special treat!!  Thank you Joey and Claire!

Look at us work those large motor skills!

The basketball hoop was a 'slam dunk' with the children today!  :)

We went outside to observe the similarities and differences between the cars we saw.  Ask your child what he/she noticed that was the same and what he/she noticed that was different! Noticing differences and grouping them is sorting, and sorting is a foundational math skill!  Although we did this yesterday too, it is a great activity to do again to see what other things the children notice the second time around.

Here is a sneak peek of our conversation:

"One time I saw a car with a Florida license plate."
"That car is parked backwards!"
"There are a lot of vans out here."
"There are small mirrors on the sides!"

We also found an ant outside!  The children were telling each other that God made the ant.  We let the ant go, but not before a quick picture.

We then came back to the classroom and sorted pictures of cars.

We noticed that there were car, truck, and van pictures.  We sorted them by type of car.  Then we noticed that some of the cars were the same color, so we sorted them by color.

We also noticed that some of the cars were the exact same car!

During Jesus time, we learned the story of Adam and Eve.  We learned that they made a bad choice and did not listen to God.  We learned that sometimes we all make bad choices, but Jesus always forgives us! We looked at our hands that we had just washed.  We discussed how the dirt from outside was no longer on our hands because we washed it off. That's what Jesus does for us!  He washes our bad choices away!

Isaiah 1:18 "Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool."

Have a wonderful weekend!
