What a fantastic day in school!

Don't forget about the Christmas Service here at Zion in the Sanctuary on December 9th at 4:00.  Our class will participate in the program.  Please drop your child off by 3:45 in the church basement.  There will be many people there, so I would encourage you to come early to get good seats.  Preschool families will be asked to bring 1 dozen cookies for the cookie reception following the service. (peanut free of course)  If you have further questions, please let me know!

Check out what we did!

We started the day playing a Roll A Christmas Tree game.  This game helps the children practice counting, one to one correspondence, and number to quantity matching!

We then looked for that tricky mouse as we played, "Little Mouse Little Mouse."  Through this game, the children are practicing recognizing numbers!  (The children also played this game by themselves during center time today!)

During Jesus time, we reviewed the story of Jesus' birth.  We learned that Jesus was born to save us from our sins, and He loves us very much!

We worked on our painted Christmas tree artwork today.

Some of us painted our paper for the tree...

while others cut out their tree!

The children created in the Free Choice center and engaged in higher level thinking!

Brian practiced writing his name on the white board!  He is developing as a writer!

We worked on drawing animals for our Nativity Mural.  The children are refining their fine motor skills and creating as they draw!

We played the Roll A Christmas Tree game in small groups.  This game helps the children practice counting, one to one correspondence, and number to quantity matching!

We also practiced number to quantity matching as we counted beads for each ornament.  The children did a great job ensuring that each number had the correct quantity!

We continued to act out the story of the nativity!  As we play, we are problem solving, working together, and learning to resolve conflicts in a positive way!
