Just a few reminders:
We will have NO SCHOOL December 24-January 2nd- Merry Christmas!

On Friday, December 21st school will have early dismissal at 12:00 p.m.  There will be no hot lunch program on this day, so please be sure that your child has a packed lunch from home.  Thanks!

We had a fun day in preschool!  Check out what we did today!

Once again, we played Little Mouse Little Mouse to help us recognize various letters.  Today, to help us practice letter sounds, we changed the M in Mouse to the letter that the children chose.  For example, if the children chose the L we would say LOUSE instead of MOUSE.  We also sang, "The ___ says ___" to help us practice letter sounds.  The children are developing as readers!

We reviewed shapes as we made various Christmas tangrams!  We learned the trapezoid shape today too!  As the children complete various tangrams, they are practicing visual discrimination, problem solving, and foundational math skills!

We also practiced sorting by various properties.  The children were sorting the ornaments by other properties than color!  Sorting is a foundational math skill.

During Jesus time, we reviewed the story of Jesus' birth.  We learned that the wise men came to visit Jesus from a far away place, and they brought Him special gifts. We learned that Jesus came to save us from our sins.  We liked lighting our two candles on the advent wreath- the candle of hope and the candle of peace!

We still love acting out the story of Jesus' birth!  It is fun to see the children remember the parts of the story!

Of course we opened the Free Choice center.  The children love creating gifts and presents for others!

We worked to complete out Christmas trees.  All of our trees are done!  You can see the children's hard work hanging in the hallway.  They did a fantastic job!

Devereux worked hard to complete the number puzzle.  He practiced one to one correspondence, counting, and number to quantity matching as he completed his puzzle.  Great job Devereux!
