Another good day in preschool!
Check out what we did today!
Don't forget about the Christmas Service here at Zion in the Sanctuary on December 9th at 4:00. Our class will participate in the program. Please drop your child off by 3:45 in the church basement. There will be many people there, so I would encourage you to come early to get good seats. Preschool families will be asked to bring 1 dozen cookies for the cookie reception following the service. (peanut free of course) If you have further questions, please let me know!
We started the day playing a Christmas memory matching game. Games such as memory matching allow the children to practice memory skills and help brain development and improved cognition!
We also worked on various Christmas puzzles! Puzzles allow the children to practice spatial relationships and problem solving!
We also practiced counting, one to one correspondence, and number recognition as we put a clip on the correct number of items on the card.
We continued creating animals, shepherds, angels, Joseph, Mary, and baby Jesus for our nativity mural! We refined our fine motor skills and engaged in creative thinking as we created.
Here is a sneak peek of our nativity mural.
During Jesus time, we reviewed the story of Jesus' birth. We learned that Jesus came to the world so save us from our sins, and he loves us very much! We practiced singing our song for Sunday too!
We continued to work on our painted Christmas trees! Some of us painted our paper for the ornaments...
while others worked on cutting out and decorating their tree.
Here are some of the finished results!
We created in the Free Choice center. The children really enjoy all of the recent donations! Thank you so much!!
Here are some of the items we have created so far!
