We had a great day in school today!  Check out what we did today!

Just a few reminders:
We will have NO SCHOOL December 24-January 2nd- Merry Christmas!

On Friday, December 21st school will have early dismissal at 12:00 p.m.  There will be no hot lunch program on this day, so please be sure that your child has a packed lunch from home.  Thanks!

We reviewed shapes as we made various Christmas tangrams!  We learned the trapezoid shape today too!  As the children complete various tangrams, they are practicing visual discrimination, problem solving, and foundational math skills!

We also practiced sorting by various properties.  The children were sorting the ornaments by other properties than color!  Sorting is a foundational math skill.

We each took a piece of the Christmas story during Jesus time, and we worked together to tell the story of Jesus birth!  We learned that Jesus was born to save us from our sins.  Glory to God!! We liked lighting our two candles on the advent wreath- the candle of hope and the candle of peace!

We still love acting out the story of Jesus' birth!  It is fun to see the children remember the parts of the story!

Of course we opened the Free Choice center.  The children love creating gifts and presents for others!

We started a Christmas word wall today.  Each day we will take a new word, or a few new words, that remind us of Christmas and add them to our word wall.  These words will be in the writing center for the children to practice reading and writing them as well!
