We want to celebrate a very special person in our class today- Mrs. Mudd!  Mrs. Mudd's birthday is tomorrow!  Thank you Mrs. Mudd for all of your hard work in our class!  Happy Birthday!!

We are working on those social skills daily!

Here are some of the phrases we learn to help us resolve conflicts:

"How many minutes until my turn?"
"Can I have a turn?"
"You can have a turn in ___ minutes."
"You can have a turn when I'm done."

Look at all of our meaningful writing!

We went to chapel and Mr. Debrick shared with us how much God loves us!  He loves us so much that He sent Jesus to die and rise again to save us from our sins!

Today we used cotton balls to paint!  We expanded our vocabulary as we described how the cotton ball felt when it was wet, and then we described it again after we were done painting.

We then did an experiment to see how far our cars would go after a ride on a large tube ramp.  We first took our clipboards, like all scientists, and wrote our names on our paper.  We then wrote our estimations of how many steps our car would go.  (We are practicing meaningful writing too!)

Then we tested our predictions!  We counted backwards from ten to 'blastoff' each car down the ramp. (Counting backwards will help the children learn subtraction skills later in life.)   We then counted how far our cars went in steps.  This activity helped us practice one to one correspondence!  After we counted, we wrote the number on our paper.

We discussed how when we looked at all of the numbers I wrote down of how far each car went, it was hard to tell which on went the farthest.  I then pulled out a graph, and we filled in the graph together.  The friends helped me count how many boxes to fill.  (Again, practicing one to one correspondence and meaningful counting.)

We discussed how it is so much easier to see which has more and which has less on a graph.

We also discussed that it doesn't matter how far our cars went, God loves us all the same!  :)

Have a great weekend! I look forward to meeting with all of you!  :)
