I hope you had a wonderful weekend!

This weekend Mrs. Mudd and I ran the Graffiti Run 5k!

Speaking of 5k's- don't forget about the Bobcat Shuffle coming up on Saturday, October 19th at Lutheran High St. Charles!

There will be a 5K race and 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk through the beautiful paths of St. Peters.
Pre-registration is $30, $35 for race day registration, $75 for family of three or more, or “sleep
in” for $25. T-shirts for all registered runners prior to September 19. $25 buys you the choice NOT to
run, but you still get a T-shirt. Cash prizes for first place in three categories.

Hope to see you at the Bobcat Shuffle!

This morning we enjoyed puzzles together!  Puzzles provide a great opportunity to strengthen spatial relationship skills.

Some friends created a game together rolling cars back and forth to each other.  They did a great job taking turns and sharing!

Look how we exercise our fine motor skills and develop as writers at school!

Setting up the check-in desk.

Look at our mechanics!

LEGOS provide a great opportunity for fine motor growth as well as creative thinking!

Devereux led us in the alphabet today.  As we practice the alphabet together, we attach each letter to a physical object.  (A-A-Apple) This helps to connect letters with their sounds.

We followed a recipe for bright paint today.  We used a cupful of cornstarch, a cupful of water, and food coloring to make the paint.  We practiced measuring and counting in this activity.  We also predicted what color we would create when we mix red and yellow.

We used the paint on black paper.

We cleaned up our paint and played a rhyming game together.  Rhyming is a valuable pre-reading skill.

We then read this silly book.  Each time we heard a rhyme, we touched our ears.  Our hands were on our ears a lot during this book!

We continued to learn about rhyming in Jesus time.  We learned three rhyming words: sad, mad, and glad.  We used these words as we learned the story of Joseph and his coat.  (You can read the story of Joseph that we learned today in Genesis chapters 37 and 42, 44, and 45.)  We learned that just as Joseph forgave his brothers and just as Jesus forgives us, we should forgive one another.
