It was a great day to be in preschool!

We started our family picture puzzles today!  Andrew's dad was able to help him with their family picture puzzle this morning.

You can still e-mail me a picture of your family if you have not done so already. :)

Devereux helped Drew with his family picture puzzle.

We had fun playing in the car we built!

Some friends chose to draw beautiful pictures!

We brought wheelie back today.  Wheelie is the game the friends created a few weeks ago.  They are learning self-regulation as they follow the rules that they created for the game.

During small group time, we worked on our family picture puzzles again.  Through this activity, the children are not only strengthening their spatial relationship skills, but they are also observing the similarities and differences between families.

"I don't have a dog.  Do you have a dog?"
"My mom has brown hair. His mom has yellow hair."

We also played environmental print go fish! As you well know by now, recognizing environmental print is a foundational reading skill.

We finished building our car today.  We added a trunk to the car and lots of tape to be sure everything is secure. Creating a physical representation of information we have learned will help to retain the information.  Furthermore, the car will enhance our imaginary play.

We played a game today called, "What's Wrong with This Picture?"  The children used their critical thinking skills to decide what was wrong with the pictures.  Critical thinking will benefit the children throughout their lives.

Can you see what is wrong with these pictures?

During Jesus time today we learned the story of Jacob and Esau.  We learned that Jacob made a bad choice and tricked his dad.  We also learned that no matter what we do, Jesus forgives us!  We discussed how even though Jesus always forgives us, we still try to make good choices.  Praise God for the gift of forgiveness!
