Happy Halloween!
Even though it was rainy, we had a great day in school!
We celebrated Allison's birthday today! Happy Birthday Allison!
We continued to strengthen our fine motor skills in the sensory table as we took all of the wrappers off of the straws. The friends are excited to finish taking off the wrappers because then we will cut the straws into tiny pieces! Fine motor strength is important because the fine motor muscle group controls small tasks such as writing!
We also strengthened our fine motor skills as we played with play dough! We also practiced important social skills including taking turns, sharing, and asking friends for a turn.
Pretend school is one of our favorite centers!
In the writing center we strengthen fine motor skills, practice recognizing and writing letters, and express creativity!
Puzzles help strengthen our spatial relationship skills!
Although your child might not be able to read the words of a book, he/she is learning valuable concepts of print. Furthermore he/she is learning to love books!
Today we painted a pumpkin patch mural. We mixed yellow and red to make orange as we created our pumpkins!
Then we played pass the pumpkin and practiced recognizing letters and numbers.
We strengthened our fine motor skills even more as we put beads on pipe cleaner pumpkins!
Because it was too rainy to go outside, we watched a Veggie Tales movie called "Where's God When I'm S-S-Scared?" We talked about how God is always with us!
Then we danced together to get some energy out.
During Jesus time we all tried to blow a bowl of water into two walls like God did for Moses. None of us could do it! We discussed how powerful our God us because with His breath, He blew a whole sea into two walls! He is so powerful that He sent His Son Jesus to die on the cross and rise again to save us from our sins!
