What a fun day in preschool!

This morning the friends worked together to create some intricate ramps this morning!  They tested before each adjustment and found a way to make the cars roll on the entire ramp!

Jacob worked to measure parts of the ramp!

Did you know that stickers are a great way to strengthen fine motor skills? We love stickers in preschool!

Brynne made many cubes using the magna-tiles.

Some friends measured each other using helicopters! What a great way to practice counting, one to one correspondence, and counting!

The sensory provides many opprotunities to learn!  Today we counted how many scoops it took to fill the various bowls and cups.

We also worked together to count and see how many scoops it took to cover Mrs. Douglas' arm!

A large part of early childhood education is learning social skills such as conflict resolution.

Today we practiced conflict resolution using puppets!  The puppet friends had a problem.  They both wanted to read the same book!  We brainstormed ways they could solve the problem.  Then, each friend came and had the opportunity to guide the puppets as they resolve their conflict.  Conflict resolution is a social skill that will benefit the children throughout their lives!

During small group time we practiced number recognition and counting with a spinner game.

God made us all different, and we all have different gifts and abilities.  Success for children in school is also different!

Success for some children is recognizing the numbers.
Success for some children is using one to one correspondence while counting.
Success for some children is exploring addition and subtraction concepts through the game. ("I need one more to make six."  "I need three more to be equal with my friend."  "If you take two away, I would have three." etc.)

We also practiced writing some environmental print!

We worked on drawing pictures of ourselves with Mrs. Buchholz!

We also had so much fun playing outside!

During Jesus time, we acted out the story of Jesus blessing the children.  We learned that no matter how we feel and no matter the choices we make, Jesus always love us!  He died on the cross and rose again to save us from our sins!
