It's a great day to be in preschool!
If you are looking for a place to worship this weekend, you are always welcome here at Zion! We have services on Saturday evening at 5:00 and Sunday morning at 8:00, 9:30, and 11:00.
This Sunday is our annual sausage supper Sunday from 12:30-7:00! Prices are all you can eat $9 for adults, $3 for children 6-12 and under six free (baby-sitting provided). Carry out dinners are also available in the school gym! Hope to see you there!
Thank you Mr. Brauchle for the tubes for our block center! Providing such open ended objects for play enhances play and creativity!
First we measured the tubes.
"This one is taller! These are shorter!"
Using comparative words in a foundational math skill!
We then experimented with different ramps at different angles!
Some friends chose to create in the writing center!
Good thing we remembered how to fix cars fro our car project! Our storm chaser car needed some work today!
Fun with the magna-tiles!
During chapel today, Mr. Aaron Hansen (Zion's Director of Christian Education) told us that God made us wonderful! We are not wonderful because of anything special that we do. It is only by the grace of Jesus Christ and His death and resurrection on the cross that we are wonderful! We looked in the mirror to remind ourselves that God made us wonderful! Next time you look in the mirror remember 'Because of Jesus, I am wonderful!"
We are blessed with some wonderful aids here at Zion! Mrs. Buchholz read us a story today!
During small group time we practiced some foundation math skills including sorting, counting, one to one correspondence and number recognition.
Preschool teachers are often asked how we meet the needs of the diverse learners in our class. Small group time is a great way that we can do that! During small group time, I am able to work with the children and differentiate the teaching and learning process as necessary.
Success in this activity differs from child to child.
Success for some children is sorting and graphing the hearts.
Success for some children is recognizing which columns have more, less, and which are equal.
Success for some children is applying one to one correspondence with help while completing the graph.
Success for some children is applying one to one correspondence independently while completing the graph.
Success for some children is identifying which column has more, which las less, and which are equal.
Success for some children is the ability to identify how to make the different columns equal. ("If the pink had two more, it would be equal to the purple!")
We also colored a Valentine heart!
We explored the rice in the sensory table too!
We played a gam with Mrs. Buchholz that also helped us practice one to one correspondence, counting, and comparing.
Praise God! We were able to go outside and run on the new sidewalk! Yay!
