Another great day in preschool!

Today Claire worked to make cards for her family!

Sammie Devereux, and Bella checked the radar for super cell tornadoes!

Learning how to develop, maintain, and navigate friendships is a large part of early childhood education.  Each day at school our friends have the opportunity to learn these valuable skills!

During morning meeting, we practiced patterning.  I created a pattern for the friends, and they guessed what the pattern was.  Can you guess the pattern below?  It's a tricky one! If you can't, ask your child to help you!  :)

During small group time we painted with yarn! Our friends tried many different techniques as they painted with the yarn!

We strengthened our fine motor skills as we practiced sewing with string!

We worked on patterning too!  As you know, each child is unique!  Success for each child is unique as well!  We value all success in preschool!

Success in patterning for some children is independently creating a pattern.
Success for some children is completing a pattern.
Success for some children is copying an existing pattern.

We then practiced recognizing our letters, numbers, and shapes through a fun wiggle worm game!  Each child drew a card from the box and either identified what was on the card.  If the card was a worm, all the children stand and wiggle!

It was too cold to go outside today, but we had a lot of fun during indoor recess!

During Jesus time, the friends had a sneak peek of a present for our friend Zippy- $3!!  We hid the present as a surprise for Zippy.  However, when Zippy came to visit, he didn't listen to us!  We were trying to tell him that we have a surprise for him, but he was too busy.  We learned how this reminds us of the story of Mary and Martha.  Martha was too busy, and she missed out on the gift of time with Jesus! Time with Jesus is a much better gift than money!
