Well it looks like winter is here! We had a fun day in preschool nonetheless!
Don't forget! We will have our Christmas service on December 15th at 4 p.m. Please bring you child to the church basement at 3:45 p.m. The church will be full so please arrive early.
There is a cookie reception after the service. We are asking families to bring one dozen cookies to the reception. Please drop the cookies off in the church basement when you drop off your child. There will be Peanut Free cookies available at the reception for those with allergies.
Check out what we did today!
We worked on pulling that corn off of the cobs. This is a great way to strengthen fine motor skills!
We used our imagination to create space ships and rockets. As the children play together they are learning valuable social skills including taking turns and sharing!
Some of the girls helped each other with the puzzles! Not only are thy strengthening their spatial relationship skills, but they are also learning to cooperate and work together for a common goal!
A dance party began during free choice! Our friends love to dance!
Some of the friends put on a concert for us while we were dancing!
We braved the cold weather and headed up to chapel. Pastor Hoehner from Chapel of the Cross Lutheran church came and talked with us about being prepared. We learned that just as we prepare ourselves for the cold, to play baseball, and to go to bed, we also prepare ourselves for Christmas! The season of Advent helps us to prepare for the birth of our Savior Jesus on Christmas!
Happy Half Birthday Jack!
During small group time, we refined our fine motor skills and expressed creativity as we used lines and paint to make our own string of Christmas lights!
We also engaged in creative thinking as we worked on presents at the gift making center!
The children worked with me to sort by various properties. Learning how to sort by various properties is a valuable foundational math skill!
We then measured each other using Christmas trees. This activity help to develop and strengthen counting, one to one correspondence, and number recognition.
Because it was icy outside, we had a fun indoor recess. We were able to switch classroom and play with Ms. Keane's friends.
Ms. Keane has a fun magnifying glass for the SMARTboard. We enjoyed investigating with it!
