Happy Monday!  This is our last week of school before Christmas break.

Remember that school ends at 12:00 on Friday. Even though there is no school lunch, we will still eat lunch in preschool.  Please pack a sack lunch for your child on Friday.  Thank you!

Look at our oil rig that we built this morning!  Block play is a great way to explore spatial relationships and practice positive conflict resolution.

Jack and Hunter explored volume, less, more, and equal in the sensory table.

We worked on our writing skills as we signed in and wrote in the writing center.

The friends were excited to see the pictures that we added to the daily schedule!

Each day we practice using weather words as we check the weather.  Today we discussed that although there is snow in the ground, it is not coming down from the sky so the weather is not snowy.

Before we started small groups, we investigated two bowls of snow.  We predicted which one will melt faster!

During small groups we practiced writing in our journals with Ms. Lindsay.

We practiced balancing, and ran out some of our energy, on the balance beam.

The friends worked with me to write their name to add to our graph of which bowl of snow will melt faster.  Through this activity, the children are not only practicing writing their name, but they are also learning valuable discovery skills including predicting and testing their predictions.  Furthermore, they are investigating more, less, and equal as they interpret the informal graph that we created.

Once the children added their names to the graph, they dictated to me their favorite part of the Christmas story.  Recall and retell are important pre-reading skills!

We created in the gift making center!

During Jesus time, we reviewed the Christmas story.  We learned about the star that the wise men followed to see Jesus.  We also lit another candle on our advent wreath!  We learned that Jesus gave us the best gift at Christmas-the gift of salvation!
