We had a lot of fun playing Jesus in the manger this morning.  The children learn more about the story of Jesus' birth as they act it out together.  They are also learning valuable social skills including sharing, taking turns, and positive conflict resolution.

Our friends worked together for a long time in the block area.  Look at all of our creations!

Megan and Claire worked to write cards for friends!

We went up to chapel to practice our song for the Christmas service on Sunday at 4:00.

During small group time, we strengthened our balancing skills with a balance beam!

We created in the gift making center. As you know, creative thinking is a higher level thinking skill.  Engaging in creative thinking, because it is a higher level thinking skill, leads to further cognitive development.

We refined or fine motor skills as we weaved with lacing cards!

We also played a game on the SMARTboard too! The children rolled the dice and counted how many of items to put on the tree.  The is a great activity to strengthen quantifying and counting skills!

We then practiced recognizing numbers 1-20, counting, and ordering as we worked to put numbers 1-20 in numerical order.

During Jesus time, we played a game of telephone.  We whispered to each other, "Glory to the newborn king!"  We then discussed who the newborn King is-Jesus! We discussed how Jesus is the best part of Christmas.  Because of Jesus' death and resurrection, we can go to heaven!
