Happy Half Birthday Bryson!

We had a lot of fun playing Jesus in the manger this morning.  The children learn more about the story of Jesus birth as they act it out together.  They are also learning valuable social skills including sharing, taking turns, and positive conflict resolution.

Free choice play offers natural and meaningful entries for learning writing skills.  "When preschoolers actively use writing, it has meaning in their lives. They should make choices about their writing." (Early Writing Experiences).  To learn more about writing with your child, click HERE.

Andrew, Brian, and Hunter showed self-regulation this morning.  As they were creating, they repeated to each other several times, "Guys, weapons are for home- not for school."  :)

Our stocking word of the day was stocking!

During small group time, the friends played a mitten match game with Mrs. Mudd in which they match upper and lower case letters.

We also played a game on the SMARTboard too! The children rolled the dice and counted how many of items to put on the tree.  The is a great activity to strengthen quantifying and counting skills!

We also engaged in creative thinking at the gift making center.

We then practiced recognizing numbers 1-20, counting, and ordering as we worked to put numbers 1-20 in numerical order.

We danced to some of our favorite SMARTboard songs too!  (Wow!  Look how high our friends can jump!)

During Jesus time, we learned about the shepherds that in the field when Jesus was born.  Angles came to the shepherds and said, "Glory to God! A king has been born!"  We learned that just like the angels brought a bright light to the shepherds, Jesus brings us a bright light!  He shines His light of love and forgiveness into our dark world!
