Happy Thursday!

Just a reminder that tomorrow school will end at 12:00. There is no after care tomorrow. Although there is no school lunch program, we will still eat lunch in preschool.  Please be sure to pack your child a sack lunch for tomorrow.

Avery, Violet, Sammie, and Brynne worked hard to decorate the stable this morning.  They first threw Jesus a birthday party with the decorations, then each friend in the class had a turn to be the guest of honor.

Bryson, Jacob, and Megan worked on creating a city with the blocks.

Hunter strengthened his spatial relationship skills as he worked hard on a puzzle.

Brian, Bryson, and Megan independently reviewed the letters together!

Brian and Jack made a LEGO car and took turns rolling it back and forth to each other.

Jacob noticed how the counting bears scoot down the ramp he built! He tested the ramp and different heights to see how it would affect the bear.  He is learning valuable science concepts!

Brynne worked with Jacob to sort the bears by color.  They then mixed up the bears and sorted them into "Mommies and babies" (small and big).  Sorting is a foundational math skill!

We began small group time playing a "What's missing?" game. This game is important because it allows the children to exercise their memory skills.  Memory games can help children master techniques for organizing and storing information that will be of benefit for years to come. (Math and Reading Help, 2013)

We then played the game during small group time with Mrs. Mudd.

The children then worked to order the blocks smallest to tallest. Ordering is a foundational math skill!

Devereux, Brian, and Megan ordered themselves too!

The children then each practiced their writing skills in the writing center.

The children worked with me on a dice game.  We rolled two dice and decided which dice had more.  We discussed how we would make them equal (take some away, add some dots, etc).  This game helps children quantify, practice recognizing more, less, and equal, and introduces subtraction and addition concepts.

Whoo hoo!  We were able to go outside today!

During Jesus time we followed the star just like the Wise Men followed the star to Jesus.

We ended our walk at the stable where we bowed down and sang praise songs to Jesus.  We are thankful that Jesus was born on Christmas so that He could die and rise again on Easter.  Because of His death and resurrection, we have eternal life with Him!
