Today we thanked God for Devereux!  Happy Birthday Devereux!

Today we also welcomed Ms. Del Baker into our classroom.  Ms. Baker is working on her Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education; she will be observing all of the fun we have in preschool for a few days!

We played with the magnet blocks.  The magnet blocks are a great way to engage in creative thinking and explore spatial relationships.

Megan's dad joined in the fun this morning too! School is fun for everyone!  :)

We had fun cutting the straws today!  This provides a great opportunity to strengthen fine motor skills!  Not to mention that cutting straws is fun!

Our class loves to write!

Some of our friends wrote books this morning!  We have authors in our class!

Pretend preschool- it is fin to see the children take on a leadership role.  It is also fun to see how I must look when I teach as they say the things I say and do the things I do.  :)

Bella and Hunter built ramps together.  They tested the ramps and adjusted them as needed.  They used problem solving skills as well as cooperation.

Brian worked on his rhyming.  Rhyming is a valuable pre-reading skill.

Bryson worked on patterning which is a foundational math skill!

During small group time we did some leaf rubbings.  First we practiced writing our names so that we know which paper is ours!

As we did the leaf rubbings, we noticed the lines in the leaf.  We learned that those lines are called veins.  Ask your child to see if he/she remembers what the lines in the leaf are called. :)

We then worked in pairs to see how many leaves tall we are.  We practiced one to one correspondence, counting, and measuring!

During Jesus time we learned the story of God providing food for the people of Israel while they were in the desert.  We learned that God provides for us too!  The greatest thing that He has provided for us is salvation!  He sent Jesus on the cross to die and rise again so that we can be with Him in heaven!

To help us remember that God provides for us, we passed around 'manna' like the Israelites ate and said, "Give us this day our daily bread."  When we said give, we passed the manna to our friends. (Don't worry; we didn't eat any of the manna. :) )
