Happy Muffins for Moms Day! We are so blessed with wonderful parents in our class!
Some of our moms were able to stay for chapel!
During chapel, Mr. M. talked to us about Heroes. He told us that some heroes are our parents! Even our teachers! BUT our greatest hero is Jesus! Jesus died on the cross and rose again to save us from our sins. Because of His death and resurrection, we will be in heaven with Him!
When we returned to the classroom, we enjoyed some free play time together. Free play provides an opportunity to explore our classroom, practice positive social interactions, increase social maturity, and problem solving. Many other learning opportunities stem from children's play.
Take the writing center for example. The writing center is one way children play opens an opportunity to teach valuable writing skills such as pencil grip, letter structure, and recognizing he connection between spoken word and written print in a meaningful, child-initiated way.
Blocks also provide a great opportunity to explore spatial relationships, problem solving, and cooperation.
We strengthened our fine motor skills as we used the scissors to cut branches from the brown paper we painted on Monday for our science center tree.
Pretend school is as fun as real school! :)
In this picture is Ms. Baker. Ms. Baker is currently working on her Master's Degree in early childhood education; she will be observing in our classroom to help with her degree.
We had fun doing 'indoor recess' today. Indoor recess is when we allow the children to travel back and forth as they choose from Ms. Keane's class and our class. On days we can't go outside, it provides a great change of scenery. :)
We love to dance!!
Here are some of our friends from Ms. Keane's class.
We loved to see the leopard gecko in Ms. Keane's class!
