We started the morning working on increasing our phonemic awareness through our Break It Up game. Phonemic awareness acquisition is a large predictor of future reading success.

We engaged in socio-dramatic play in dog school!

Hunter made a badge identifying himself as a dog trainer.  Great writing practice!

Mrs. Povich brought her birds today!  We went to Ms. Keane's class to check them out!

Many of the friends worked together to use the stencils.  They did a great job helping each other when someone was stuck!  They showed God's love!

Claire helped us with the alphabet today!

During morning meeting we practiced recognizing shapes as we played a fun tricky mouse game.  In this game, the children close their eyes while the mouse hides in a shape 'house.'  Each child has a turn guessing in which 'house' the mouse is hiding.

"Children who learn about shapes are building skills that will help them with reading, writing, and math. Learning about shapes also can help them understand other signs and symbols." (Shapes, 2013)

Today we discussed what it means when we say we are sorry.  We talked about how when we say we are sorry we really mean we will try to change our choice.  We made a sign to hang in our classroom to help us remember that when we say we are sorry we mean I will try to change my choice.

During small group time, we practiced recognizing shapes as we played BINGO with Mrs. Mudd.

We also worked together to create a mural of artwork!

We then each took a turn to try to trick Mrs. Douglas during our Break It Up game.

During Jesus time we reviewed the story of Moses and the bronze snake.  We learned that even when we make mistakes, like the people in the story, we can rest assured that God ALWAYS forgives us!
