If you are looking for a place to worship this weekend, you are always welcome here at Zion!  We have services Saturday night at 5:00 and Sunday morning at 8:00, 9:30, and 11:00.  Hope to see you there!

Happy Friday!  We had a great day in school!  Check out what we did today!

We started the day by cutting out leaves from the paper that we painted on Wednesday.  We used these leaves to add to our tree in the science center!

Andrew worked hard to build a tall tower!  He practiced persistence as that tricky tower kept falling over!

Andrew enlisted Megan and Blake's help to build a wall instead.  They used the level to be sure it was straight.  They are learning to use scientific concepts and tools!

Have I mentioned how much we love to write in our class?  Our friends wrote great books this morning!  They are learning valuable concepts of print as they create their own books.  The friends asked each other, "What is the title of your book?" and "Who is the author?"  They said, "Let me point to the title of your book."  Not only are they learning concepts of print, they are also putting those concepts to practice!

Bella pointed to the title of Sammie's book.

Jacob practiced rhyming this morning.  Rhyming is another valuable pre-reading concept.

Sammie was excited to be our alphabet leader today!

What a treat!  The Miss Limback's kindergarten class came and danced with us this morning!  You know our class loves a good dance party!  Speaking of Dance Party, don't forget our class dance party next Friday, November 15th from 6:00-7:00 right here in our classroom!

During small group time, we collected two leaves and put them in contact paper to investigate them further.

We noticed that the veins in the leaves are easy to spot when the light shines through them!

During Jesus time we learned what it means to be grateful.  Ask your child if he/she remembers what it means to be grateful.  We also discussed the difference between things we need and things we want.  We discussed that God provides for our needs, but maybe not always our wants.  We learned that God provided our biggest need, the need for salvation, when He sent Jesus to die on the cross and rise again to save us!
