TOMORROW, FEBRUARY 2ND AT 5:00 OUR CLASS AND MRS. SMITH'S CLASS WILL BE SINGING HERE AT ZION AT THE SATURDAY NIGHT SERVICE. PLEASE HAVE YOUR CHILD IN THE CHURCH BASEMENT AT 4:45. THANK YOU!
I included the words below so you can practice with your child at home.
Oh you can't keep Jesus' love in a box
love in a box
love in a box
Oh you can't keep Jesus' love in a box
'Cause His love will come a bubblin' through
Oh you can't keep Jesus' love in a jar
Love in a jar
Love in a jar
Oh you can't keep Jesus' love in a jar
'Cause His love will come a bubblin' through
So I'll just keep Jesus' love in my heart
love in my heart
love in my heart
So I'll just keep Jesus' love in my heart
'Cause His love will come a bubblin' through
Zion will also be hosting an Open House on Feb. 10th from 1-3 p.m. This would be a great time to come in and view our Preschool/Kindergarten classrooms and talk to our school staff! Please invite friends and family who are interested in learning more about the great things that are going on at Zion Lutheran School!
What a fun day it was as we dressed up as our favorite book characters!
Here are a few pictures of our costumes!

We explored the wood pieces again today. As the children create and explore the wood pieces they are learning valuable writing skills. They are learning that all letters and shapes are made up of different kinds of lines. Breaking down writing into different lines makes learning to write more manageable for children.
As they created, the children discussed the size and shapes of the wood pieces.
"I am using two small curves."
"I am using one big curve and one straight line."
We continued to create representations of the animals that we have learned about so far. This not only allows the children to create an accurate representation, but it also provides an opportunity to discuss all we have learned so far!
We hung up our representations of hibernating/short sleeping animals in the hibernation cave.
we worked on our individual caves today too. The children will use these caves along with the representations of the animals that we have learned about to re-enforce what we have learned about what animals do in the winter.
We also practiced writing in our journals today. The children really enjoy writing each other's names! They are really developing as writers!
Because it was too cold to go outside, we shared rooms with Mrs. Smith for a while! We are learning to develop relationships with children in other classes and to take care of toys/property that is not ours.
After rest, we finished celebrating National Lutheran School's Week by reading with Mrs. Blackford's third graders! What a great ending to a great week!
