There is no school Friday, February 15th (teacher in-service) and Monday, February 18th (President's day.)

We had a fun day in school!

Check out what we did today!

We handed out our Valentine cards this morning.  The children are even learning as they hand out their Valentines! They are practicing one to one correspondence as they place one Valentine in one bag.

We then headed to chapel.  The children received ashes on their hand or on their forehead.  The ashes remind us that when we die, we get to be with Jesus!

We enjoyed the beautiful weather outside before the party today!  We practiced positive social skills as we engaged in cooperative play outside!

We then came back inside for our party!  Thank you so much to the Brainsby family for all of your hard work planning and preparing the party!

We exercised our fine motor skills as we frosted our own cookie for snack.  (Fine motor skills help us do smaller tasks, such as writing and tying our shoes!)

We exercised those fine motor skills again as we laced a special Valentine heart!  We practiced writing words on the heart too!  The children are developing as writers!

We practiced recognizing numbers 1-5 as we threw bean bags at the number on a poster board.  (Thank you again Gloria for being so brave and holding the board!  :)  )

We worked together to find the matching pieces of the heart puzzles.  The children practiced working together and spatial relationships in this activity!

We played a letter BINGO.  This game allowed the children to practice recognizing letters!

We practiced one to one correspondence and number recognition as we played a counting heart game.
