I included the words below so you can practice with your child at home.

Oh you can't keep Jesus' love in a box
love in a box
love in a box
Oh you can't keep Jesus' love in a box
'Cause His love will come a bubblin' through

Oh you can't keep Jesus' love in a jar
Love in a jar
Love in a jar
Oh you can't keep Jesus' love in a jar
'Cause His love will come a bubblin' through

So I'll just keep Jesus' love in my heart
love in my heart
love in my heart
So I'll just keep Jesus' love in my heart
'Cause His love will come a bubblin' through

Zion will also be hosting an Open House on Feb. 10th from 1-3 p.m.  This would be a great time to come in and view our Preschool/Kindergarten classrooms and talk to our school staff!  Please invite friends and family who are interested in learning more about the great things that are going on at Zion Lutheran School!

We had a fun day in school!

Check out what we did!

We started by writing information about the animals we saw on our nature watch this week.  We learned that birds fly south, or migrate, for the winter.  We also learned that squirrels, cats, and dogs adapt for the winter.  We will continue to investigate various animals throughout our project and discover what they do in winter!  (Adapt, migrate, short sleep, hibernate.)

We then put the pictures of the animals in the correct category for what they do during the winter.  The children are learning more about the world around them.  They are also learning discovery and investigative skills!

We webbed various animals that we are interested in learning about if they adapt, migrate, short sleep, or hibernate in the winter.  The children are enjoying learning about the animals.  It is important in early childhood to engage children in areas in which they are interested as much as possible.  This will help them foster a love of learning!

During Jesus time, we reviewed the story of Jesus blessing the children.  We learned that no matter how we feel, Jesus always loves us!  We reminded one another that we are children of God by making the sign of the cross on a friend's head and saying, "You are a child of God!"

We had fun as we practiced recognizing and writing letters!  We wrote the letters in shaving cream!  This activity makes writing fun and helps the children to develop as writers.

We also practiced recognizing letter and numbers today!  We sorted the mittens by deciding if the mitten had a letter written on it or a number.  Once we decided, we wrote the letter/number on the correct column on our paper.  We practiced the sounds of the letters we recognized too!  The children are developing as readers and writers!

We stamped letters into our gooey play dough! We practiced recognizing letters as we played.  We also refined our fine motor skills as we played with the play dough as well!
