During morning free choice some of the friends used their understanding of math to create and compare sets.
Many of the friends have requested that we pull out the marble run again; so we did!
The problem was that we only had two marbles. The friends and I problem solved together how we could solve this problem.
One of the friends suggested to take turns. I asked how many turns does a friend take before giving it to a different friend. We decided that each friend takes one turn and hands the marble to another friend.
The children are learning to solve social problems! This is a skill that will benefit them throughout their lives.

Outside time
During chapel Mr. M. shared with us that today is Earth Day! We thank God for creating our world and all of the people in it! He sent Jesus to die on the cross and rise again to save all of the people in the world.
During small group time we strengthened our knowledge of comparing. The children worked with Ms. Emma to make towers that were smaller than her tower, taller than her tower, and then equal to her tower. Comparing is a foundational math skill.
The children also drew pictures of themselves that we will use to make a I am a Child of God mural.
We then webbed all that we have learned about dogs and made a card for Mrs. Schmidt, our school secretary.
Free choice time is a great time for children to learn! Their interest leads to further learning. Play also helps children make sense of the world, and expand their cognitive reasoning.
