What a fun day in preschool!

Don't forget about Donuts for Dads tomorrow morning! Donuts for Dads is from 7:00 a.m.-7:55 a.m. in Zion's church basement.  Come spend time with your child(ren) while eating some delicious breakfast goodies.  It is an open house format, so come when you like.   You do not need to RSVP in order to attend this event.  Dads are welcome to stay for chapel at 8:10 a.m.

This morning Avery, Hunter, Brian, and Devereux worked collaboratively to complete the fire truck puzzle.  They resolved their conflicts in a positive way!  Learning such valuable social skills is a large part of early childhood education!

Avery and Brynne explored volume and comparative words in the sensory table.

Megan investigated the alphabet this morning!  Learning the letters and their sounds is a foundational reading skill.

Of course our friends requested a dance party this morning!  Our class loves to dance!

During morning meeting we watched a weather forecast and added more weather words to our weather word web.  This helps language development as the children are being exposed to and learning new vocabulary.

The friends noticed that the weatherman was giving his forecast from a newsroom, so we decided to turn our dramatic play area into a news room!  We made a list of various items that we saw on the clip that we might need for our newsroom!

During small group time we worked on turning our dramatic play center into a news room!

We practiced writing as we made various signs for the news room.

We then did some creative thinking and problem solving to make microphones for the news room!

Here is how it looks as of today:

I wonder how we will change and/or add to it throughout the weather project?

We refined our fine motor skills and created in the writing center too!

Mrs. Kuhlmann visited today!  Our friends love when she comes to visit!

We did more fine motor strengthening and creating as we played with play dough with Mrs. Buchholz!

We explored spatial relationships and building as we worked together in the block center.

We enjoyed the beautiful weather outside!

During Jesus time, we reviewed the story of  Jesus raising Jairus' daughter from the dead.  We took a walk to various spots around the room to help us review the story. We learned that Jesus is so powerful!  He rose from the dead to save us from our sins!
