Happy Donuts for Dads day!  We are thankful for all of the dads in our school!  Thank you!!

This morning before chapel we played with our dads on the blue carpet!

During chapel we learned that God does great things with ordinary people.  He keeps his promises!  We also learned that with God all things are possible!

We are thankful for Andrew today!  Happy Half Birthday Andrew!

Using the estimation jar during check in helps not only promote writing skills but also foundational math skills including comparing and counting!

We loved played meteorologist in the preschool news room!  As the children engage in dramatic play as a meteorologist, they are using some of the weather vocabulary that we have discussed this week.  As the children use the weather words, they are expanding their vocabulary and deepening their understanding of the words.

The children create many  intricate structures in the block area.  Block play is a great way to explore spatial relationships, problem solving, and comparing!

Claire worked hard tto create a representation of each member of her family!

During small group time we worked on creating bracelets using good junk and toilet paper tubes!

We looked out the window at the clouds in the sky.  We noticed that some of the clouds look fluffy and other clouds look flat.  We noticed that the clouds are all different shapes too!  We wondered why they look different?  We decided that we will have to investigate clouds further in our Weather Project!

We did a cloud simulation with Ms. Emma today too.  Each friend had a cloud (cotton ball).  They soaked up water and made the cloud rain by squeezing it.  This activity not only promotes questions about clouds that can lead to future learning, but it also promotes language development as the children describe how the cloud feels, smells, and sounds.

We also decided that our newsroom needed an official name! We decided on the name "The Bobcat Weather Station on TV by Mrs. Douglas Preschool Class"  (Pretty catchy name, right?  :) )

We decided that we need a sign for the name just like on news stations that we see on TV.  We each took turns writing letters for the sign!

Here is a picture of the completed sign.  Come and see it hanging in our Newsroom when you get a chance!
