What a beautiful Monday!

This morning we continued to sign in using the estimation jar.  This is a great way to practice writing, counting, and comparing!

We pulled out some play dough this morning too!  The friends problem solved by finding classroom items that they could use as rollers.  Problem solving is a life long skill!

Hunter worked hard to measure how tall he is using blocks.

During morning meeting we looked at this yard stick and discussed how to use it.  We added the yard stick to the block center to enhance our block play.

This week we begin Phase To of our Weather Project.  Phase Two of a project is when the bulk of the investigating, questioning, and learning takes place.  If you want to learn more about the Project Approach, click HERE.
Today we watched a video of a weather report and identified various weather words that we heard during the report.  We wrote the words on a list to investigate further throughout our Weather Project.  This activity helps expand language development.

During small group time we used the yard stick to help us measure and compare in the block center.  Some friends looked at the number on the stick and identified how long their structure was!

The friends refined their fine motor skills as they worked in the writing center.

We practiced writing together as we wrote some of the words we identified as weather words from the weather forecast.  We practiced letter formation and letter and letter sound correlation.

We then enjoyed painting on aluminum foil!

We had fun enjoying the beautiful weather God gave us!

During Jesus time, we learned the story of Jesus raising Jairus' daughter from the dead.  We learned that Jesus is so powerful!  He rose from the dead to save us from our sins!
