We will have our classroom Christmas parties Tuesday and Wednesday (December 16th and 17th) from 9:30-10:30.  If you are able to to come and help either of these days, we would love to have you!
Also Sunday, December 14th at 4:00 is our preschool Christmas service.  Please bring your child to the church basement at 3:45.  You might want to arrive sooner to find a seat.  However, please do not bring your child to the church basement until 3:45.  We look forward to celebrating Jesus' birth together!!!    If you have any questions, please let me know!!

Morning free choice time is a great time to for the children to practice social and emotional skills that will benefit them throughout their lives!
This morning, we had a lot of fun acting out the Christmas story!

Megan and Anabelle worked together to complete a puzzle! They are learning cooperation!

Many friends used our "good junk" to create gifts and other creations!  This might not look like learning, but the children are learning!  They are engaging in creative thinking, thinking through and plan and adapting the plan as needed, and problem solving!

Look at the ice dog house the friends built this morning!

As they were playing I asked, "What are your dog names?"
A friend replied, "See they are here on our collars."
I said, "I don't see them.  I wonder if you could make them so I don't forget your dog name?"
The friends then ran to the writing center to make dog collars.  This was the perfect opportunity to engage in meaningful writing!

We went to the big playground today!  The friends had a lot of fun!!

We then went up to the church to practice our Christmas program for Sunday.  We sat for a long time, and the friends did a GREAT job!! (This took the place of our small group time today.)

During second free choice time, some of the friends wanted to make new name tags for themselves. This was another great opportunity to engage in meaningful writing!

Shepherd Hunter helped take care of the dogs.

Other friends explored the magnets.  They are learning valuable scientific skills!

Avery worked very hard to make this headband!  Great persistence Avery!!

During Jesus time, the friends helped me act out the story of the angels telling the shepherds about Jesus' birth.  We remembered that although Santa, cookies, presents, and snow are fun parts of Christmas, the BEST part of Christmas is the birth of our Savior Jesus!  Jesus was born so that He could save us from our sins through His death and resurrection!!
