Happy Friday!
Don't forget about the the Preschool Christmas program Sunday, December 14th and 4:00.  Please bring your child to the church basement at 3:45.  You might want to arrive sooner to find a seat, however please do not bring your child down to the church basement until 3:45.  We look forward to celebrating Jesus' birth together!

The friends were really excited to explore the new magnets in the science center today!

Many of the friends used the costumes to act out the story of Jesus' birth!

We are so thankful for the space in the commons where we can run and play on rainy days!

During morning meeting we read a book entitled The First Night.  The book is about Jesus' birth! We predicted what the book would be about based on the title and illustration on the first page.  We decided if we agreed or disagreed with our friends' predictions.  We discussed that it is okay to disagree with our friends!  We can disagree and still be friends. :)

After snack, we had a special guest reader- Mrs. Schmidt our awesome school secretary!!

During small group time we finished our Advent wreaths!  The friends have been working so hard on them all week!

We also explored spatial relationships with the pattern blocks.

We practiced matching upper and lower case letters with a fun SMARTboard game!

We practiced positional words with a gingerbread man game too!

During second free choice time, the friends had fun working together!

We also acted out the story of Jesus' birth together!

During Jesus time, we saw the pieces of a nativity set and learned what each piece means for the Christmas story.  We remembered that some people think that Christmas is all about presents, Santa, and cookies, but we know the truth!  Christmas is special because Jesus was born to die on the cross and rise again to save us from our sins!  That is the best reason to celebrate Christmas!!
