Happy Friday! We had a fun day in preschool!
Thank you to everyone who brought in items from our wish list!! We are so blessed!!
We used the stickers, tape, and envelopes in the writing center. Stickers provide an opportunity for fine motor development! The tape and envelopes allow the children to express creativity. Engaging in creative thinking, because it is a higher level thinking skill, can lead to further cognitive development!
As the children create in the writing center we are able to teach writing skills in a natural, child-initiated way!
Friendships continue to be formed as we play together throughout the classroom. Developing positive social skills is a large part of early childhood education!
We exercised our fine motor skills with play dough!
We love school! :)
We practiced writing our names again today!
We then looked for the letters in our names to add to our name graph. Graphing provides an opportunity to work on counting and one to one correspondence.
Some of our friends had a difficult time finding some of the letters. The children did a great job helping one another! They not only practiced letter recognition, and/or recognizing the different lines that make the letters, but they also practiced showing God's love!
Some friends then chose to write the letters of their names on the graph. We compared to see who has the longest name and who has the shortest name. We discussed that God loves us all the same no matter how many letters in our name!
During Jesus time we read the story of creation. We thanked God for making the world, especially us! We did a fun "GOOOOOOO GOD!" cheer as we reviewed everything that God made. We sang the Butterfly Song to help us to thank God for making us special!
