Looking Ahead:
  • Wednesday, May 22nd -LAST DAY OF PRESCHOOL
  • Thursday, May 23rd -Preschool Popsicles and Playground event, 9-11 a.m. at Laurel Park.  (We will not  have Preschool that day.)
  • Friday, May 24th- NO SCHOOL-SUMMER BREAK BEGINS
Check out some of the highlights from our day!

We had fun creating at the creating table today!  Allowing children to create and explore with no boundaries provides an opportunity to engage children in creative thinking!  Creative thinking is a higher level thinking skill and can lead to further cognitive development!

We continued to explore, play, and learn in the Doctor Office in our classroom.  It is important for children to have ample time for imaginary play because research provides more and more evidence of the positive effects that well-developed play has on social skills, emerging mathematical abilities, mastery of early literacy concepts, and self-regulation

The children worked together in the Post Office as well today!  As the children explore the words and letters found in the Post Office, they are developing foundational reading and writing skills!

We practiced sorting beans today! As you know by now, sorting is a foundational math skill!

We also worked on making butterflies today!   The children used their fine motor skills to stamp paint on their butterfly wings.  Once the wings dry, we will decorate bodies for our butterflies.

We also worked on a TOP SECRET gift for our moms today! (No pictures of the secret.  :) )
