Check out some of the highlights from our day!

We enjoyed creating with some new fun material this morning!  It is so fun to see what the children create.  As I am sure you know by now, creative thinking is a higher level thinking skill and can lead to more cognitive development!

Today we went to play on the BIG PLAYGROUND!  Yay!

During Jesus time, we reviewed the story of David and Goliath.  Allison and Dominic helped us act it out!  We remembered that with God, we can do anything!

We painted using fishing worms today too!  This activity helps refine fine motor skills and express creativity.

Today we compared gummy worms left in water to gummy worms out of the bag. Comparing is a foundational math and science skill.  As the children investigated, they used their senses to explore both  types of gummy worms.  Again, providing children with real, hands-on experiences with objects allows the children to not only assimilate new information, but also to retain the new information!

We noticed that the worms from the water were more squishy and gooey than the worms from the bag.  We also noticed that the worms from the bag were more bumpy than the worms from the water.  The children made so many fantastic observations!  I encourage you to ask them at home to share more observations with you!

The investigation table.

Gummy worms in water.

"It smells good!"

Taking a closer look.

Getting the worms out of the water.

"The water one is gooey!"

"It's kinda hard to get out.  It's so slimy!"

"The water looks dirty!  The worms made it dirty!"
