Check out some of the highlights from our day!

We played a fun Wiggle Worm game today!  The children each drew a card from the tub.  The card either had a number, letter, shape, or worm on it.  The children identified the number, letter, or shape.  If the card had a wiggle worm, the children shouted, "WIGGLE WORM!" and the rest of the friends wiggled on their letter spot.  When it was time for the wiggling to be over, I said, "Here comes the bird!" and the children sat back down.  This game is a great way to review letters, numbers, and shapes as well as a way to get out some wiggles!

During Jesus time we sang praises to God and thanked Hm for all that He has done for us!

We, like scientists, observed our worm habitat.  We looked at the tunnels that the worms made in the habitat.  Allowing the children to observe the worms provides an opportunity for them to learn more about the world around them and fosters their curiosity.

We did an observational drawing of the worm habitat.  As the children work on an observational drawing, they need to focus on what they see with their eyes and not what they know in their head.  This is one way for children to practice creating an accurate representation!

We refined our fine motor skills as we created worms with the play dough.  We had some great discussions as we created.
"We should make a worm movie by taking pictures of our play dough worms and making it into a movie!" one of the children said.
We are going to try to work on making the play dough movie with pictures tomorrow in the morning!
Encouraging children in their own thoughts and ideas is one way to foster confidence and further creativity!

We worked together to sort letters and numbers today too!
