Check out some of the highlights from our day!

During Jesus time we reviewed the story of Joshua and the Battle of Jericho.  It just so happens that the children made a tower out of their snack cups! We sang "Be Strong in the Lord" to remind us that our God is powerful!

We continued digging for worms today!  We found many worms today!

We discussed what kind of ground the worms like best.
One child said, "There a lots of worms because it rained last night!"

Allowing children to explore and learn through hands on experiences provides an opportunity for children to not only to assimiliate that information to what they already know,  but also retain new information learned.

Of course we played outside after we dug for worms!

Back in the classroom, we drew a picture of how we were successful in digging for worms.  We discussed what we had to do to find them.  Providing an opportunity for children to create a representation of what they have done/learned is one more way for the information to be retained!

The children also created with a brown grocery bag and 'good junk' today.  As you know by know, creative thinking is a higher level thinking skill.  The more children engage in creative thinking, the more possibilities for cognitive development!
